As Wichita Falls Rider began to stretch its lead, Trinity Christian decided on a change in tactics in the third round of its run in the Caprock Classic — one that would prove costly for the Lady Lions.
“When they got away from us is when I started gambling a little bit with what we were doing on defense,” Trinity Christian coach Gregg Ammons said. “We weren’t hitting shots like Trinity girls usually hit, that happens, and when that happens sometimes you get down more than you want to get down and start gambling.
“And when we gambled they made us pay.”
