WOODROW — A.J. Perez hit four straight free throws to seal Cooper’s 66-56 victory over Abilene Cooper Cooper in a boys District 4-5A game Tuesday.
Perez kept his cool under pressure after Abilene Cooper made a 6-0 run at the start of the third quarter that tied the game at 33-33.
“The Plainview game pressure really got to us,” said Perez, who finished with six points. “This game we didn’t want to be playing on our heels, but pushing forward.”
