When Mary Gorostiza’s freshman class started out in the Coronado softball program they numbered about 14 athletes.
“Now there is only four of us,” she said, “and so many girls couldn’t handle the pressure. They couldn’t handle not playing, not being where they wanted to be, and me I just wanted to be apart of the team. I just wanted to wear the Coronado uniform and I just wanted to be there (whether) I played or not.”
Which, paid off her senior year.
