ABILENE — Usually when you hold your opponent to just one basket in the fourth quarter, good things are ahead for your basketball team.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for the Lubbock High boys in a 47-46 District 4-5A loss to Abilene Cooper at Cougar Gym on Tuesday night.
The Westerners were unable to overcome a poor shooting third quarter in which Aiden Valdez made a basket with 6:05 left in the quarter that set off a dry spell until the final minute of the period when Jake Brownfield made a pair of free throws.
