SNYDER — Bowie took over possession midfield trailing by one score late in its Class 3A area round match-up with Shallowater.
Trace Hardee rolled out to his right looking for an open target and needing more than 10 yards to convert for a first down and keep the series alive. But Jake Johnson didn’t allow the Bowie quarterback to get the ball off.
The Mustang senior linebacker sacked Hardee to set up the game-sealing turnover in Shallowater’s 64-50 defeat of Bowie in Snyder on Thursday.
