PLAINVIEW — When undefeated Vega scored in the third period to cut Crosbyton’s lead to five points, it looked like the Chiefs’ lead might disappear. But Crosbyton intercepted three passes and scored two more times on the way to a 26-14 Class 1A Division II area round playoff victory Friday night.
Crosbyton (11-1) faces Memphis in the next round at a time and location to be determined.
“Anytime you play another day this time of year, it fires you up,” Crosbyton head football coach Brannon Rogers said. “I wouldn’t have cared if we had just won by one point.”
