ANDREWS — As fourth-ranked Kermit started to climb back into its Region I-3A quarterfinal against No. 1 Brownfield, it was succeeding in scoring on the wings with its talented guards.
But before the Yellowjackets could put Brownfield out of the game, the Cubs started to work their press more consistently.
It rattled Kermit, a 31-win team, just enough down the stretch to preserve a tight lead in a 62-54 win Tuesday that sends Brownfield back to the regional tournament for a second consecutive season.
