The Lubbock High softball team’s bats put them up early on Cooper, but wouldn’t compare to their finish at the plate.
“It felt good how we kind of scratched out those first couple runs,” Lady Westerner sophomore catcher Chloe Read said, “and then as soon as we built up our confidence we went out there and played like we should.”
Lubbock High scored eight runs in its final two innings against Cooper to complete a 10-0 run-rule of the Lady Pirates in five innings of a District 4-5A match-up at Lady Westerner Field on Tuesday.
