AUSTIN — Lightning and rain delayed the UIL state track and field meet for more than five hours Saturday afternoon. No one was more inconvenienced than athletes from Classes 4A and 1A who were scheduled to compete during that time.
“It was tough,” Martin Loewen said. “An extra four hours sitting around on the cement wasn’t real fun.”
