WOLFFORTH — Trendan Jackson ended the first quarter with a 3-pointer that tied Plainview with Lovington (N.M.).
He continued in the second quarter, scoring eight of the Bulldogs’ next 10 points, giving Plainview a lead it kept in a 68-47 win over Lovington in the opening round of the Gene Messer Shootout at Frenship.
Jackson’s offensive outburst, part of a 26-point second frame, was a strong complement for the Bulldogs since he came off the bench to do it and finished as Plainview’s leading scorer with 15 points.
