Cornett was strong for Shallowater at the bottom of the order last week. The senior third baseman went 2 for 6 with four runs, two RBIs and a walk. He also struck out two batters and recorded a save in the Mustangs’ 7-3 Game 2 win over Class 3A regional final opponent Alpine.
