Isaias Morin made an impression on the Brownfield baseball team early in the season, earning his spot on the varsity squad.
“The game that he knew he was ready to play varsity was in the Shallowater tournament,” Cubs coach Bart Upchurch said. “We beat Bushland 2-1 and he threw a complete game, and that is when I realized he was ready.”
Morin played shortstop for the Cubs (18-9) and sparingly pitched, going 4-4 and striking out 65 in 42 2/3 innings. He posted 67 putouts on the season, as well.
